50mm – your affordable friend
It’s cheap it’s cheerful and it’s 1,8. That why I love my little 50mm
For under £100 it’s a great addition to any camera bag. It may not be the sharpest piece of glass at 1.8 but if you go a couple of stops you’ve got a great portrait lens.
The only real downside is the plastic body but what’s inside it makes up for it!
If you haven’t got one of these beauties then head to your nearest friendly camera store now and pick one up!
If you’d like to delivered straight to your door then on Amazon you can get ….
Canon EF 50 mm f/1.8 II Lens for £88.85
and if you’re one of those then
Nikon 50mm F1.8D AF Nikkor Lens for £92.50
(Just a little joke Nikonians….we use Nikon too and we have the 50mm for that too).
If you really want to see what a good 50mm can do then check out Rick Nunn’s site Fifty of Fifty.
All the images were shot between 1st of July — 19th of August 2010
Project 50 — 50 days, 50 photos with a 50mm lens. Simple concept but to actually complete this project at a reasonable standard takes some serious dedication, personal motivation, oh & good friends help too.
