Finding new clients is a big part of being a freelance photographer. It is even harder when you are starting out and have yet to make a name for yourself. During a recent drive through the Adirondacks, I came across this abandoned lodge along route 28N in Minerva, New York. A sad reality exists, especially in the United States that many historical buildings and places are being left to decay, alone in their own abandon. Ideally places like this would be preserved somehow as part of our own American history.

Have you ever bought one of those disposable panoramic cameras? Probably not. Readers of CurrentPhotographer.com are probably to technologically advanced for those. Your probably shoot panoramas in your sleep, stitching them together effortlessly. Not me. I haven’t done much pano stuff, but I recall taking some cool shots using a disposable pano film camera. When it comes to panos I like simple.

Hitting a photographic slump can happen to even the best photographer. You shoot the same subject matter, process with the same techniques, fill client requests, and work day in and day out doing the same thing. This maybe great for the bank account, but sometimes that can destroy your creativity. Hitting the creative wall can be detrimental to your mood. However, there are some solutions to help break free from this black hole.
So now that I’ve left San Antonio, what else did I learn and what have I done (or could I do) with the images I took?

As my days have got busier with marketing the site, social networking, writing photography courses, working on plans for photography holidays my days also seem to have got longer, and sometimes not always so productive. I have started to write to do lists, but between you and me; they’ve never really done it for me, I usually get to the end of the day with my list uncompleted.
