Day 107 – NextGEN Gallery add-ons for WordPress
Yesterday I gave a brief overview of the NextGEN Gallery for WordPress. Apart from being a wonderful gallery plugin for photographers there are also a number of add-ons that you can download to enhance the plugin even more.
You can see the instructions and the live demo at Uninuni – Nextgen Smooth Gallery
Finn Rudolphs picture gallery for NextGEN Gallery. Digital animation for thumbing through a physical image stack.
Also have a look at NextGEN-FlashViewer from the same developers.
There is a really good Support Forum for both plugins.
Allows you to add custom columns (such as add the name of the photographer or where the picture was taken) to the NextGEN Gallery plugin. Simply enter the name of your new field(s), select between “input”, “textarea” or “dropdown”, and the field(s) will be automatically added to the manage images form in the NGG admin panel.
From the same author as the NextGEN custom fields, this plugin adds the ability for users to vote on NextGEN Galleries and Images. A few basic options give the ability to limit who can vote on what.
The NextGEN widgets only allows you to show single images. This widgets allows much more including control over the amount of galleries you show and the order they appear in. It also offers much more thumbnail control and works well with AutoThumb.
If you use NextGEN and you have a huge amount of galleries, NextGEN Gallery Search let you find the gallery you are looking for without browsing all the admin galleries pages.
The NextGEN Public Uploader plugin for WordPress allows users to upload images from the frontend of your blog to a specified gallery. Upon upload the submitted image is marked as “excluded” and an email notificatin will be sent letting you know an image is waiting to be reviewed.
Advanced NextGen Gallery with some extra effects. A non invasive WordPress-plugin that extend NextGen Gallery with some new effects.
WordPress Simple Paypal Shopping Cart allows you to add an ‘Add to Cart’ button on any posts or pages. It also allows you to add/display the shopping cart on any post or page or sidebar easily. The shopping cart shows the user what they currently have in the cart and allows them to remove the items. It can be easily integrated with the NextGen Photo Gallery plugin too.
