I came across this video whilst reading Crash Taylor’s blog www.interviewsbycrashtaylor.com. One of the interviews was with one of my former bosses from about 6 or 7 years years ago, Marbella based Jeremy Standley.

Of course it’s always good to catch up on what old colleges are doing and as I poked around his website I came across this rather marvellously put together promotional video.

The team behind the video are JH Productions, set up in Spain by British award-winning director, Becky Sharpe and television cameraman, Jose Hernandez.

Personally I think this is a fantastic way to promote yourself as opposed to the more ‘trendy’ Animoto videos that we’re seeing more of.

It’s also a wonderful way to use that video function on your DSLR that you’ve been meaning to experiment with but haven’t found the time!

More and more the ‘modern bride’ is looking for a photographer that matches their personality. If you’re not selling your personality then you’re just setting yourself up to join a price war. In this day and age that is a battle that no-one is ever going to win….. brides and grooms especially.

So at your next commission why not get someone to take a short clip of you in action. What better insight into what and how you work can you offer?
