Day 172 – The Elephant Parade

Submitted by on June 21, 2010 – 10:00 amOne Comment

I’m sure if you live in London or have visited in the last few weeks you might have noticed at least one of the couple of hundred elephants in streets and parks.

If you don’t know already the aim of this parade is to raise £2 million for the Asian elephant and benefit 20 UK conservation charities. Download the official route map for the Elephant Parade and please sign the petition to call on goverments for securing a viable future for the endangered Asian elephant.

This week the Royal Hospital in Chelsea are hosting herd viewing days on the 25th, 26th and the 28th. There free admission and it’s all open to the public from 10am till 7pm.

What better reason to have a little day out and to photograph and promote this cause. We’re going to struggle to make it down there so we’d love to see some images of those of you that do!

If you fancy buying one of these little beauties then head over to www.givinglots.co.uk/ElephantParadeLondon where over half a million quid has already been raised. I quite like Marc Quinn’s one but I don’t have 30 grand to spare right now!

Petition signed. I must get out more. I haven’t seen any of them yet and I regularly pass these places on my bike.
