I thought I might just leave the WordPress default intro message “Hello World” as the title of my first post on this site as it’s quite apt.

Whilst this is certainly not my first blog it is my first attempt at a 365 project. Such projects normally involve taking a different picture everyday to in someway document your life……. I quite like the idea, but rather than just taking a picture I’d rather post something that ignites my imagination in some way. That may involve me taking a picture….. and as a photographer I’m sure it will do! But the main focus is to share what inspires me in the photography world……….. daily.

Admittedly this blog (for now) has been a bit thrown together and I’m sure in the next few weeks it’ll start to take proper shape and have a real direction. I must admit that this idea only actually came to me yesterday while listening to Rosh Sillars’ podcast New Media Photographer. Rosh also has his own 365 project which he intends to start tomorrow at www.digitalmediaphotographer.com.

So thank you Rosh for the inspiration and I look forward to seeing what you come up with over the next year!

Being the end of the century and all I wanted to start off by posting a picture a took back in 1999 while I was doing my photography degree at Manchester Metropolitan University. It seems a very long time ago but the last ten years I’ve spent in this industry have been both varied and exciting. It’s nice to look back (on a non-digital age) and see how far we’ve come.
