Since Facebook updated the new pages many people have been given an automatically generated employer page on their personal profiles. Like many others I found this quite frustrating as I already had a Facebook fan page and I wanted to know how I could change these settings.

The first mistake I make was that I inputted the incorrect name of my business! The second mistake was that I when I was editing my profile information I added the business name as add a project rather than Where have you worked?

Here’s a really simple way to do it!

• Go to the adverts and page you manage www.facebook.com/pages/manage
• Click on edit page
• Copy the text you have in the Name section – this prevents the first mistake I made!

• The next step is to go to your edit personal profile section - www.facebook.com/editprofile.php
• Click on Education and Work
• Paste in your company name under the Employer section

• Then all you need to do is add in your details. You should your fan page thumbnail appear …. this means it’s all good!
