We have already looked a a brief list of NextGEN Gallery add-ons for WordPress but we’re going to take a closer look at some of the more popular gallery effects. Last week we focused on Smooth Gallery but today we’re looking at  NextGen Image flow. There is also NextGEN FlashViewer if you’re into that type of thing.

If you you’re looking for an image gallery plugin for your WordPress site, you really can’t go wrong with NextGEN. Here’s our overview of the plugin - NextGEN Gallery and Plugins.

Image Flow

Personally I see this more of a thumbnail viewer as opposed to an actual gallery and what I’d really like to see is the images open up in a light box style. Still if you’re using the  gallery on a nice wide page it might look at little better.

Here’s what it looks like…. we’re kept all of the setting to the default apart from changing the refection.

We found a small conflict within the plugin – If you’re setting up another post with a Nextgen thumbnail gallery then the thumbnail gallery moves to the top of page, no matter where you post it.

For that reason we’ve uninstalled it but if you’d like to see a working example then go to maiermartin.de/ajax/

Installation.

Pretty simple really. The only real problem you might find is that you’ll probibly need to move reflect2.php and reflect3.php to your WordPress root folder.

You’ll find all of the options (and there’s lots of them but don’t that worry you) in your actual NextGen Gallery options.
