OnOne PhotoTools – Black and White Treatments
For our PhotoCreative members we have put together a PDF reference for the OnOne presets we’ve featured (and will be featuring).
Today we’re concentrating on the standard presets.
OnOne Presets
All of these presets have been created by the OnOne team. There’s some quite fun ones which are worth a look. Click on the images to enlarge them to 1200×800 pixels.
Worth using the Masking brush to paint out the texture from your subject.
Quite a specialist effect as are many of these presets…. interesting effect that creates a dark high contrast look.
More of a staring point for enhancing landscape images. Make sure to go to the sharpening step to tune preferences.
A great starting point for fine tuning those portraits.
Not really suited for the example but it’ll certainly give your sunset landscapes and impressive boost.
Described as a very dark and warm black and white conversion. Has the added extra of a soft dark filter….. very nice.
Good for achieving a nice antique look… if you’re into that sort of thing…… Black and white conversion with warming and flattened contrast. A little grain and dark edges are added in there for good measure.
Contemporary grunge look. You’re going wan to paint out the texture using the Masking Brush with this one.
Holga effects
The Holga/Lomo type of effects have seen quite the re-emergence in recent years with a number of iPhone and Android applications featuring these ‘toy camera’ styles.
PhotoTools 2.5 Presets
There’s a few extra presets that have been included in version 2.5…. and here they are!
Great if you’re going for that popular SoCal late afternoon sunset look…. little bit lens flare …little bit of grunge.
Rich warming preset that adds an impressionist effect, great for landscapes.
Dark and moody effect which gives you that Rembrandt look and feel.
Add some darkness and gloom to your sunny landscapes…. there is a cheery little rainbow in there to brighten things up a bit though!
