Studio Press have released two new child WordPress themes - Tapestry and Focus. We decided to take a closer look.

Tapestry

The new child theme Tapestry was Theme of the Month for May at StudioPress and offers a Tumblr style theme for WordPress users. It’s simple style makes it perfect as an all round photography blog.

Tapestry is a fairly simple style template but if you want to keep things nice and tidy then this might be the choice for you.

Focus 1.0.2 Theme

At the end of March, StudioPress released the Focus Child Theme and now it’s been updated for Genesis v1.6! This is the second theme that utilizes the new Genesis Grid Loop that displays featured posts at the top of a homepage and a grid-like area of post excerpts at the bottom and now it also takes advantage of the new custom header function and footer widgets that are part of Genesis v1.6.

The Focus Theme was built to bring your words, pictures and videos into sharp relief. It’s a clean and powerful theme with one critical objective: concentrating your priceless reader’s attention.
