SWPP Photographer of the year Helen Sapiecha
To say it’s been a great start to the year for Torquay based photographer Helen Sapiecha is a bit of an understatement. Helen celebrated her 30th birthday on Sunday with three awards including Digital art photographer of the year, Science and nature photographer of the year…… oh and Photographer of the year 2010…. in her own words …. boy am I chuffed!
Helen is just half of the father daughter team MWS Photography…..
a father and daughter dastardly duo, relentlessly chasing the shadows, dancing in pools of light, and recording it for all to see……..
Helen has been nice enough to share a few thoughts…
Having returned from the SWPP’s annual convention this week, my feet have barely touched the floor. To receive such an accolade was beyond comprehension for me.
I have witnessed over the past twelve months, such artistry and creativity, it has left my head spinning.
I’ve always been artsy, my father is a photographer, and my childhood hobbies consisted of painting and drawing, this progressed into photography later on.
Digital art is my passion, to be able to manipulate an image to create something that doesn’t exist in the real world fascinates and excites me, I like to create my own worlds within images, and hopefully inspire a few more people along the way. My work is usually created, image by image, with a focus to speak to the viewer from a unique standpoint. I only hope it serves to do so.
Join MWS Photography on Facebook if you would like to know more, details of upcoming training sessions will be released shortly.
Certainly have a look at some of the Gold and Silver awards that Helen has received throughout the year – SWPP AWARDS
