The SWPP convention might be over for another year but there’s still plenty to look back on. Sometimes conventions like these can turn into one big shopping trip so it’s hard to know where to start……. the trade awards are always worth a peek and act as a nice guide for where you might want to invest your hard earned cash!

It was a pretty good year for Portrait Profession V9 who won 4 awards including Professional Product of the Year, Best Photo Finishing Product, Best Professional Imaging Innovation and The Best Professional Productivity Digital Tool.

For professional labs, although missing out on best professional lab to Pro Am Imaging, Loxley Colour took away two awards for Best Professional Photographic Service and Best Professional Albums for their Belissimo range.

Whilst the Nikon SB-900 came out on top for the third year running for best pro flashgun, it’s Canon users who voted the Canon 5D Mark II best professional DSLR for a third consecutive year. When it comes to glass this year was all about the Canon 70-200 f2.8 MkII….. nice bit of kit if you have the budget!
