Use WordPress to build your Facebook Fan Page template

Hands up who knows nothing about HTML or indeed FBML but would still like to create interesting pages for their Facebook fans.

HTML isn’t really the hardest language in the world to learn…. or at least the basics aren’t, but who has the time to learn a new language?

What you may, or may not, realise is that you can use WordPress as a powerful tool to create HTML and copy that to the FBML application.

We recently added a new page to our Facebook fan page created right here in WordPress….. using this very post…. here’s how we did it…

Basic rule… keep the width to 520pixels

Start your post by adding in whatever content you like (just like you would normally create a WordPress post).

In this example we’ve added in an image that we want to link to iTunes (and our free app).

Set the size > copy and paste in the link into Link URL

It’s always easier to have your images already created to fit the 520pixel width.

Once you have finished adding your content then click on the HTML tab.

Copy the code that you need. In this post I don’t need the rest of the article just the image and the link.

Go to the FBML Application – read more about this at Customise your Facebook Fan Page. Paste in your code and you’re done!
