What do you do if you are asked to do a trash and treasure?

If you are us, you make sure that those dresses will never see the light of day again!
The location was Stover Country Park, in Devon, hidden in the woods where we wouldn’t be disturbed, patterns of light playing through the fronds of auburn leaves, and a decent swamp nearby.

Mix in two models, (one of which quit her day job to attend the shoot) , our hairdresser and dress lady, two dresses, veils, flowers, shoes and makeup, not counting the coffee, the kit and some towels for, you know, after………. and you’ve got yourself a team MWS shoot!

Here’s how it went……….
It’s early, early in the morning, just as the day is dawning. Last night’s party is still playing its song through our brains. The sun beating down is too contrasty , too bright, but none of that matters. For MWS photography it’s SHOW TIME, Treasure or Trash. If it’s treasure then its beauty, pretty, soft, sugar and spice and all things nice.
If it’s trash, it’s ARMAGEDDON. Total destruction and your dress just died……
How do we do it? We use available light…………. lucky for us what is available is Elinchroms ranger Quadra

And a nice big prolinca reflector and a shoot through umbrella.
Add a mixer to the cocktail of light…….the Sekonic L-758Dr light meter.
The three bodies on manual, all with varying lens complete the arsenal for the day.
Thats how we shoot in daylight with available light.
